COMPANY OBJECTIVES

To motivate aspiring Poets by:

1) Executing poetry competitions twice a year (May/June and October) inviting writers of all ages to participate and awarding prizes for excellence to winners of the competition as selected by the official judges.


2) Executing seminars / workshops to assist Poets in improving their craft.

3) Presenting Poetry Readings to bring our Poets together and to expose the community to our Poets.



To promote Poets by:

1) Publishing in the daily newspapers the names of the winners of our poetry competitions and their photographs. We may also publish the poem that was awarded first place in each of the three categories (funds permitting).

2) Constructing a web site where our Poet’s biographies and poems can be read. Consideration will also be given to the possibility of an annual Online Poetry Magazine or Anthology.

3) Following their career in poetry and publicly congratulating them on winning other poetry contests and launching their books. We will also advertise their book launch and encourage book signing.


To provide to Poets:

1) Assistance (free of charge) in selling their self-published or published book by maintaining an online bookstore and advertising and offering books for sale at competitive prices. The usual bookstore mark up $ value, will now be utilised to give free delivery to buyers via TT Post Courier. The Poets will not lose out on profit per book and will have the potential of increased sales.

2) An official office site and telephone contact enabling easy access to information.


3) A special library at the office site highlighting books published by Poets in Trinidad and Tobago and a select few from some of the world’s best Poets. Additionally, to provide other literature on improving the art of poetry.

4) Guidance on copywriting poems and publishing of books.


5) An online "Ask The Poet Expert" column, where Poets can forward their poems and get feedback.
